And while its table of contents includes many of the same names as its predecessor, Dying of Fright also features tales from Irving, Hawthorne, Wells, Blackwood, Bloch, Bradbury, Leiber and Mattheson (just to name a few). 1977 brought us Les’ final anthology, Thirteen Tales of Terror, which in some ways may be the most unique project of the three (and one more shining example of the many hats Les would constantly flip between).

Another favorite of mine is Phantom Passages, about a young man who went looking for Autumnal, a place where the old gods dwell, wrote down what appeared to be spells to open these passages which were sold to Gideon who buys and sells manuscripts. It’s going to be one hell of a tasty selection! By subscribing, you’ll also be supporting the publishing world whose ranks you’re hoping to join. Meanwhile, keep on hoping that Lily Rabe, who we really missed last season (though getting to see her play Sister Mary Eunice again in the episode “Orphans” was almost worth her only being in one episode) will sign on to return!
