Just a few short months after the attack on Pearl Harbor, a fleet of 16 B-25 army bombers, led by Lt. He enlisted in the Army in July, 1940, after serving in CCC camps for two years. These included Newfoundland in August 1941, and Casablanca in January 1943, (United States and Britain only), Teheran in November 1943, Yalta in February 1945, and Potsdam in July 1945. (By the latter point, Roosevelt had died and was replaced by Vice-President Harry S. Despite meticulous planning and preparation, and one of the longest and most ferocious artillery barrages of the war, almost 20,000 British soldiers were killed, making it the worst single day in British military history.
